Attorney of the Year – Stephen J. Foley, Jr.

Stephen J. Foley, Jr. has been a valued member of the NJDA Board for many years, serving as Director, Secretary/Treasurer, President and Chairperson of the Board. In 2014 he was the recipient of the NJDA Professional Lawyer of the Year award. He remains an active member of the Board as Chair of the Amicus Committee. In that role, he has provided guidance and expertise in reviewing and analyzing the many requests made to the NJDA for our participation as amicus in the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of NJ. Steve has also represented the NJDA in amicus filings in the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of NJ. Most recently, he filed an amicus brief and argued on behalf of the NJDA before the Supreme Court of NJ in the Haines v. Taft case, which resulted in a reversal of the Appellate Division’s decision permitting plaintiffs who have elected reduced medical expense benefits in the PIP coverage of their personal automobile insurance policies to recover damages expenses incurred between the reduced limit and $250,000. He is always available to our members and continues to provide outstanding leadership and service to our organization.

Young Lawyer of the Year – Juliann M. Alicino

Juliann Alicino has been an active member of the NJDA since joining the Association. She has served as Chairperson of the Auto Liability Committee for 3 years. In that leadership role, she has been responsible for organizing the program and moderating the annual seminar, which is one of the most successful and well attended seminars on our schedule. She has also participated as a panelist in our annual Women and the Law seminar, and she has served as Vice President of the Central Region. In recognition of her dedication and commitment to the NJDA, as well as her outstanding leadership potential, Juliann has been elected as a Director for the 2019-2022 term.
