Letter from the President
Dear Members,
We are all looking forward to the opportunity to meet in-person again at the NJDA’s 59th Annual Convention at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Situated on 185 acres along the Thames River in scenic southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is home to three unique casinos, a 34-story, 1,200 room luxury hotel, a world-class spa and golf course, over 75 shops, restaurants and bars as well as three award-winning entertainment venues including a 10,000-seat Arena. There is also family entertainment, including an interactive restaurant with a bowling alley and other games, a children’s arcade and onsite child care available for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age, as well as an offsite indoor kart racing and a trampoline park. The hotel is a short ride from Mystic, which has a ton of activities from shopping in Mystic Village and Downtown area to Museums and Aquarium and a variety of restaurants. The hotel is also about a 30-minute ride from Misquamicut and Ocean Beach. Ocean Beach has not only the beach, but also some amusement rides, mini golf, water slides and does nightly activities during the summer. For those looking to take in the scenery of the coastline while getting in their steps, there is Bluff Point which is a 25-minute drive. For something a little closer, Ft. Shantok is literally 2 minutes away. It has several nature paths with the main one circumventing a large pond.
We have a very exciting CLE program planned, which will offer 6.0 CLE credits. We will hear from esteemed panels of our members on techniques for combatting plaintiff’s trial tactics, the Patient Safety Act, PIP, premises liability, cannabis law, employment law, an update on the proposed amendment to NJ Rule 702 and our annual civil case law update. Our Platinum Sponsor, Exponent, will provide a presentation on utilizing photogrammetry for analysis and visualizations.
Enclosed please find the registration materials, information regarding the nominations for our annual awards and the CLE program schedule with full details of topics and speakers. Rooms are now available so please contact Mohegan Sun reservations department as soon as possible to reserve your room as the hotel will release the room block on June 5, 2025.
I look forward to seeing you in Connecticut!
