Young Lawyers Seminar Recap

On Thursday, April 7, 2016, the NJDA’s Young Lawyers Committed Presented “A Primer for Young Lawyers on Experts in Litigation,” a CLE seminar dedicating to educating new or young attorneys on strategy and methodology in assisting partners in effectively utilizing and preparing experts in anticipation of trial.  The two hour seminar was held at Hoagland, Longo Moran Dunst & Doukas in New Brunswick.  The experienced panel included Anthony Cocca of Bubb Grogan & Cocca, LLP who spoke about preparing the expert to testify and trial; Edward Fanning of McCarter & English, LLP spoke on expert depositions and tactics for discrediting opposing experts; and Natalie Mantell and Amanda Munsie of Gibbons P.C. spoke about the retention of experts, assisting experts in anticipation of expert reports and motions related to same.  Following the seminar, the NJDA co-hosted with the DRI Young Lawyers Committee, a networking event at nearby Mike’s Courtside, thanks to the help of sponsors Veritext and Diamond Reporting and Legal Video.
